Coming soon – Jazoon TechDays 2015 Jazoon reloaded or the software world besides Java

On October 23, the autumn edition of the Jazoon TechDays 2015 takes place at the Technopark in Zurich. Beside the name, a few more things have changed.

Soon it will be Jazoon time! On Friday, October 23, the conference offers insights into the «software world besides Java». Swiss and international speakers talk about hot topics such as Scala, F# and GO. For details on speakers and talks, please see jazoon.com

In addition to the name «Jazoon TechDays», a few more things change as of 2015:

  • Two conferences will be held every year: one in Zurich in autumn, one in Bern in spring
  • Each conference is a one-day event consisting of two parallel tracks: one speaker track and one workshop track
  • Every event is dedicated to a specific topic

Reto Frey, one of the organizers, shares some background information about the «Jazoon reloaded»:

What is the reason for these organizational changes?

Zurich and Bern are the two major IT hubs in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The second conference in Bern brings us even closer to our local audience. In addition, two events provide more flexibility in terms of topics. Our aim is to conclude each conference by giving an outlook on the upcoming one. This way, we keep potential participants up to date and help them with their planning.

At what audience is the new concept targeted?

As reflected by the name «TechDays», the Jazoon conference shall be an event from software engineers for software engineers and clearly focus on technical topics. Of course, the event is also open to techies who would like to extend their IT knowledge.

What will be the highlights of the autumn edition in Zurich?

The clearly technical focus, and selected speakers. Our speakers are much more than just experienced users: Aleksandar Prokopec, for example, has co-engineered the programming language Scala, and Ghislain Fourny is a co-author of the JSONiq specification. Who can possibly be more familiar with a technology than the people who engineered it?
